Kemeny Lecture

The Kemeny Lecture Series brings internationally celebrated design professionals annually to Portland to give a lecture for the benefit of the students and faculty in the Graphic Design program, as well as the broader design community. All lectures are made possible by the Matthias D. Kemeny Charitable Fund of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. Talks are free and open to all!

How it started

This series was started a few years back thanks to an endowment from the Matthias Kemeny Estate. Through these funds, we bring internationally recognized designers to speak to the PSUGD community.

Matthias D. Kemeny

A powerful yet gentle man, Matthias Kemeny was intensely focused and strongly committed to making the world a better place through art and design. His talents, innovations and intellectual curiosities were remarkable, as was his genuine, deep interest in ever person he met. Matthias passed away from ALS in March of 2007.
