Strange Band for Strange Times

Strange Bands for Strange Times is a creative series of projects that resulted in a collaborative visual art exhibition uniting students from Walt Morey Middle School and Graphic Design majors at Portland State University. Together, teams of middle school students and college students developed fictional bands and designed promotional materials including logos, band’s characters’ identity and clothing, music, stop motion, albums, and t-shirts. Through this project students used art and design to explore themes of identity—both individual and collective.
