Histories of Graphic Design

Introduces students to the development of graphic forms and typographies starting with ancient civilizations and finishing in the early 21st century. The contexts and ideas that helped shape these histories will be prioritized. Students will develop critical research and writing methods to synthesize ideas around design topics of their own interest. Open to non-majors.
