As the student marketing coordinator for Campus Rec, you will have the
unique opportunity to shape the image of Campus Recreation and the new
Student Rec Center.  Using your abilities in graphic design and
marketing  you will help promote physical and mental wellness at
Portland State via branding, promotions, and organizing intentional
outreach and representation.  This is the perfect position in which to
apply your classroom work to real-world experiences while growing your
leadership and communication skills.

Job Description:
– Create branding and promotional materials for programing and   one-time events
– Coordinate and staff a Campus Rec table at university resource fairs
and in the park blocks
– Oversee a group of student staff, consisting of a: web designer,
junior graphic designer, and photographer.
– Organize a weekly marketing meeting and a bi-yearly marketing retreat
for staff
– Attend an all-staff meeting for Campus Rec once a week in order to
update staff on marketing efforts
– Hold 16 to 20 office hours a week
– Create and distribute press releases on behalf of the department
– Assist in fundraising efforts

Skills Needed:
– Proficient in Adobe: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
– Management experience
– Time management and organization skills
– Ability to give and take constructive criticism
– Strong communicator

Application Process:
Applications can be picked up in SMSU 47 (Rec Clubs office) and will be
due November 7th. Please submit a sample portfolio of prior graphic
design or marketing work in addition to a cover letter. Interviews will
take place during the second week of November. Once hired, you will
shadow the current marketing coordinator for the remainder of Fall term
and will take on the role completely during winter break. If  you have
