About the Show:
A portal has opened itself in the city which allows us to travel into another dimension full of imagination and oddities. It is a parallel world where the impossible is made possible and the unexpected is everywhere.
Alex creates work that is weird, wild, and wonderful.
The Show is free and open to the public
daily from March 6 – March 29, 2015.
Gathering Autonomy: Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative, the first retrospective exhibition of this print cooperative that produces graphics for activist organizations around events or actions.
Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative is a decentralized network of 30 artists committed to making print and design work that reflects a radical social, environmental, and political stance. With members working from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, Justseeds operates both as a unified collaboration of similarly minded printmakers and as a loose collection of creative individuals with unique viewpoints and working methods. The Cooperative produces collective portfolios, contributes graphics to grassroots struggles for justice, builds large sculptural installations in galleries, and wheatpastes on the streets.
Opening: Thursday, March 5th at 6pm
Philip Feldman Gallery + Project Space at PNCA

Portland Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Wikimedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. In a 2011 survey, the Wikimedia Foundation found that less than 10% of its contributors identify as female. While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity, however, is not. Content is skewed by the lack of female participation. This represents an alarming absence in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge.
Let’s change that. Join us in the Crumpacker Family Library at the Portland Art Museum (2nd floor of the Mark Building), 1219 SW Park Ave. Portland, OR 97205, on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian and reference materials. Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. For the editing-averse, we urge you to stop by to show your support. Women, women-identified, and male allies are welcome.
Organized by Siân Evans/Art Libraries Society of North America’s Women and Art Special Interest Group, Dorothy Howard, Jacqueline Mabey/failed projects, and Michael Mandiberg, in collaboration with POWarts and The Museum of Modern Art.
