Registration is FREE & Food will be PROVIDED! (Yes, you heard that right. Free food.)
This year’s theme is AP-Hi, designed to allow Computer Science & Design students to ‘break the ice’ with APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Each project will need to integrate at least one API. If you haven’t integrated an API before, don’t sweat it! We’ll give a presentation introducing you to some freely available APIs as well as some tools and libraries you can use for them. If you have some familiarity with APIs, this is a great opportunity to build a project with others that will showcase your skills!
This year’s hackathon is exciting as we’ll be shaking things up a bit! We’re partnering with design students to share the experience in both APIs, and having well-rounded teams where we can learn from each other!
Additionally, we’ll be having two guest speakers: One is Kristine Campbell, who as CEO of Hailio, she’ll be sharing her journey through tech with us! We also have Lauren S. Park, who will share more about her work in diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Visit our website for their full bios: wics.cs.pdx.edu/
