Spacecraft! A Friendtorship Show!

Posted on May 8th, 2018 by Kate Bingaman-Burt

In a world without CGI or high-priced special effects, students in the Friendtorship program created their own DIY movie trailers out of cardboard, duct tape, a green screen and plenty of imagination. Friendtorship is a collaborative mentorship program that brings together students from Centennial Park High School and the School of Art + Design, increasing access to design and arts learning for underserved high school students. For this project, that meant paying homage to classic sci-fi flicks, inventing new superheroes and imagining future chapters of the Star Wars saga. The “Spacecraft” screening and exhibit runs May 9 – 25; meet the students at the closing reception on Friday, May 25.

Opening reception: Wednesday, May 9th, Noon – 1pm

Closing reception: Friday, May 25th, 6 – 9 pm

Location:  AB Gallery, PSU Art Building, 2000 SW 5th Avenue, Portland Oregon
