Portfolio Review Info Session Make-Up Process

Students who miss one of the three mandatory Info Sessions must submit a series of essays and successfully complete a quiz in order to be eligible for the Review. Failure to submit an adequate essay or to correctly answer enough questions in the quiz will mean you will not be able to participate in the Review until the following Spring.

NOTE: You will only get once chance per year to attempt these make-up activities, so follow the instructions carefully.

First, read the SPR Handbook and then write a response to all of the following prompts:

  1. In your own words, describe why we require a portfolio review of all of our sophomore students. (200-300 words)
  2. Briefly describe how the portfolio is evaluated, what criteria is used, and what indicates a ‘passing’ portfolio.
    (200-300 words)
  3. What makes your design work unique, and what are some ways you want to communicate that through your portfolio? (200-300 words)

Email your completed essays to the design faculty for evaluation.

The quiz covers several important and specific aspects of the Review that can be found in the SPR Handbook.

Note: The quiz is timed and you may only take it once per year, so make sure you are prepared for it before you begin.
