Introduction to Communication Design for Non-Majors

Introduction for non-majors to communication design principles and methods used in composition. Lectures, readings, and projects enable creative application of design principles, color theory, and typography. Projects address formal concerns of visual communication design, visual literacy, design nomenclature, and design process through methods and strategies for creative problem-solving. Students demonstrate verbal and visual application of a design and compositional vocabulary, an effective design process, and skillful use of materials and tools. Projects do not require computer experience. Prerequisites: None
