Citizen is a mobile device strategy, design, and development company headquartered in Portland. From planning to execution to create amazing mobile experiences, we provide our clients world-class services. And now we’re looking to add some fresh faces to our visual design team. Interns, specifically.
As an intern at Citizen you will receive agency experience, coaching and direction in interactive design, some nice work for your portfolio, and the satisfaction of working for friendly, fragrant folks. Also money. You’ll get some of that.
Some of the things you’ll do as an intern:
Help produce detailed, high-grade deliverables including storyboards, user scenarios, personas, design prototypes and user-requirements specifications for mobile and tablet platforms such as Mobile Web, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone7.
Work specifically on wireframes and flows that support usable and polished UI systems.
Present visual design work and rational, helping the development teams assess the work based on UX design principles rather than personal opinion.
OK, you’ll probably do a fair amount of production grunt work too. With a run or two to Breken Kitchen for coffee.
What we want in an intern:
Excellent command of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.
Talent in typography, layout, and color design.
Passion for, and knowledge of, good design.
Curiosity and a drive to improve as a designer.
Pluses:
Experience in Powerpoint, web coding, user interface design, and/or animation/storyboarding.
Illustration skills.
Appreciation for the comedic stylings of Louie C.K.
In order to be considered, you’ll need to submit a resume and a portfolio (PDF or online). The program will last 2 months. Interns can count on working 20-25 hours a week. We will provide a modest hourly wage.
