Position // Paid Graphic Design Internship (Entry Level)
The Graphic Design Intern at Shapiro Didway will be focused on our efforts to launch updated brand materials in early 2022. The Graphic Design Intern will be report to the Marketing Manager to collaborate on updated designs for promotional materials and brand collateral. The Graphic Design Intern will also be responsible for collaborating with all levels of staff, from Principals to Designers. The work schedule is flexible and could be part-time or full-time depending on the work load.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Bringing creative solutions and ideas to brand application
Layout of promotional materials including proposal pages, templates, swag, mailers, etc., in both digital and print formats
Social Media Content
Maintaining and applying brand guidelines and standards
Comfortable with integrating feedback into designs
Opportunity for growth into marketing support role to represent firm at industry events

Shapiro Didway is a Portland, Oregon landscape architecture and urban design firm founded in 2007. We are an Oregon certified Emerging Small Business and a member of ASLA Oregon with LEED accredited professionals on staff.
Our diverse team of landscape architects and designers are passionate about exploring and expressing relationships between people and their environment. We work collaboratively to achieve our goals of designing modern, engaging places informed by community values, social equity, site context, and sustainable landscape design principles.
We work on a wide range of public and private projects throughout Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho. Our project types include mixed-use, commercial, housing, education, parks and recreation, healthcare, and residential developments. We believe in multidisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and open communication with team members and stakeholders to create successful projects for our clients.
In accordance with public health guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our design teams are continuing to work remotely as necessary and hosting meetings virtually to keep all projects moving forward. We will continue to stay updated on health guidelines to monitor when it is safe for all staff to return to the office. Our office is located one block from the Willamette River Greenway in Portland’s Central Eastside district and is easily accessed by bike and the Portland Streetcar.
Skills & Qualifications //
Self-motivated, driven and detail-oriented
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills
Strong organizational skills and time management skills
Software: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, WordPress
Knowledge of the A/E industry
Motion graphics experience
Minimum Qualifications //
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, & Photoshop
Professional degree from an accredited Graphic Design program, or currently working towards a degree in Graphic Design
