GlobalPDX connects the Oregon-based global development community in an effort to magnify
our collective impact on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We are a small
organization in our second year dedicated to supporting our members by fostering partnerships,
offering learning and training resources, and building a network for those focused on
international development.

About This Position

GlobalPDX is seeking a marketing and communications intern to create external
communications, improve outgoing materials and develop processes for continued marketing
efforts. This person will also provide website support and support in outreach events such as
the GlobalPDX annual conference, GlobalPDX monthly development drinks and seminars. This
person will own multiple assignments, deliver high-quality materials, take initiative, design and
implement an independent project and be confident in proposing new ideas and approaches.

Responsibilities

● Assist with conference planning and event management
● Management of the GlobalPDX website through WordPress
● Management of Social Media accounts
● Create content for our e-newsletter, social media, website, press releases and more
● Create visuals and graphics for social media and announcements
● Proof all communication collateral for spelling, grammar and style
● Create and post compelling content for GlobalPDX’s social media mediums
● Research and propose new ways of getting brand and message out into the world

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

● Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
● Proven knowledge of AP Style
● Good level of design skills
● Experience with WordPress websites is required
● Experience in event planning and management
● High attention to detail with a good eye for design and ability to follow branding
guidelines
● Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently

Position Details: Available to work 2-3 days/week
Will be based within the Green Empowerment office (140 SW Yamhill Street, Portland) with the
option to work remotely, and will work with and report to the GlobalPDX coordinator.
