Partner with Groundwork Portland and the Portland Harbor Community Coalition to help create promotional and outreach materials for engaging diverse community members in the many health and environmental issues related to contamination of the Willamette River and Portland Harbor Superfund Site.
This would include potentially creating a blog and printed materials to be handed out to community members.
The Portland Harbor Partnership (a group of potentially responsible parties for cleaning up the river) has funded their own robust public relations campaign: http://www.portlandharborpartnership.com/
Now it’s time for a community-based public relations campaign to ensure that the most critical information is reaching especially disproportionately impacted communities about the cleanup alternatives for the Willamette River and shoreline.
Hours are flexible, depending on school requirements and student interest.
This is an unpaid internship or class project.
Benefits include:
-Meeting many community partners and organizations
-Adding an important project to your portfolio
-Benefitting the community
