The Mercy Corps Creative Team is seeking a Junior Designer Intern to assist in updating our signature agency materials, participate in ideation and team meetings for ongoing projects, and assist designers in developing new materials.
The Creative Team is Mercy Corps’ internal brand and marketing agency. We function much like an integrated marketing firm–leading and developing the design, content and messaging for our channels (website, social), advertising and the organization as a whole. During this internship, the Junior Designer will:
Work independently on projects with oversight from Senior Designers and the Art Director
Gain an understanding of design processes and work flow in an agency-like setting
Collaborate on projects with our internal Creative Team: designers, content planners, video editors, writers, social media managers, as well as internal stakeholders (clients) and external vendors
Develop proper file building, structure, and organization techniques
Receive critique, feedback and review of their concepts, ideas and design work
Be exposed to ideation techniques to generate concepts
Be exposed to modern humanitarian emergency and resiliency efforts and explore how design and messaging can make causes accessible, attractive and engaging to different audiences
