The Graphic Design Intern will provide support to all These Numbers Have Faces staff members, working closely with the Development & Community Manager in preparing print and web materials, as well as content for social and interactive media. The Intern will be responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact by designing art and copy layouts, and will play an integral role in creating public awareness about our students and programs.
Working at These Numbers Have Faces requires flexibility and collaboration, often working on projects as they come up. Therefore, internship responsibilities are subject to change or expand throughout the internship. They include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development of graphic and other multimedia content for print and web, as well as help brainstorm new campaigns and ideas
- Build elegant presentations for our donors, supporters, events and campaigns
- Create unique and thoughtful design solutions for the external and internal needs of the organization
- Collaborate and follow creative direction from the CEO
- Translate verbal ideas into well-executed print pieces
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Although this position is unpaid, the intern will get an inside look at all aspects of a growing nonprofit organization. While the majority of time will be spent on design projects, other opportunities may include:
- Observe and participate in staff meetings and gatherings
- Compose a blog post and curate content for a newsletter for our community of supporters
- Develop portfolio with varied design examples
- Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising and awareness events
- Earn course credit or volunteer hours (if still in school)
