A creative department manager at an educational company that produces two product lines for higher education client seeks a freelance graphic designer, with the possibility of eventually becoming a part-time role. The manager is based in Portland, OR.
The department is responsible for two product lines: 1) creation of college level courses that teach new students critical thinking and information literacy skills for school and professional lives, and 2) customized project services for educators, instructors, and librarians.
The successful graphic designer will be able to produce a variety of visual elements (but not motion graphics) that will bring the courses to life and illustrate the concepts being taught. Visuals will include infographics, short comic strips, stylized text, and more.
The same person will be able to create infographics, posters, bookmarks, web ads, and other work for the customized project services line. These materials typically are used in a classroom or workshop, or to promote events and initiatives.
Rate will be hourly to start and could evolve to include a retainer fee. Work can be done anytime, as long as the candidate is available for brief, occasional brainstorming phone calls between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to kick off a project.
