Designers, Illustrators, and photographers needed

The Pacific Sentinel is a monthly student run publication that seeks to involve and uplift student voices in the style of The Atlantic / The New Yorker but we also like to punch like a weekly.

We are a professional publication that believes in the importance of legitimate journalism and ethics.

But stories need graphics to get people excited to open the magazine and flip to the next page. Illustrations, images and good design drive people to do everything in life and we need good designers to help our readers crave more!

As a designer and illustrator for our publication you would be responsible for assisting the Production Editor / Art Director with a variety of design and illustration projects, typography to type layout for stories, to infographics and magazine covers.

Like every magazine, some people are strongest with layout and others may be stronger illustrators and type masters.

We need it all and we want you to come help us become even better!

You will be paid on a per contribution basis: do a layout, get paid! do one or a set of illustrations, get paid! infographic, paid! etc.

our compensation structures can be viewed here: https://www.pdx.edu/student-media/compensation

Jesus, this is starting to sound like an MLM sales pitch, but it’s a real legitimate student publication and we really legitimately do really legitimate writing but need you to help our stories really legitimately get to the next level.

If you get excited about seeing your work in print and online and want an opportunity to create as much or little work as you want for a publication: apply today!
