Design and Marketing Assistant

Position Summary
The Design and Marketing Assistant will have an opportunity to participate in meaningful brand management responsibilities that will strengthen his/her design skills. The individual in this position will work with PSU Foundation print and online marketing collateral and advertising, in the areas of graphic design and layout projects. The successful candidate must have previous experience in design and have completed applicable coursework. He/she will be asked to assist Marketing and Communications with various design projects for internal customers.

Hours/Week | 5 – 10 hours with flexible scheduling
Salary | $12/hour the year in the position with an opportunity for an increase based on performance and multiple years working in the Office of Marketing and Communications.

Position Schedule
Part-time position, 5 – 10 hours a week, Monday – Friday, within the business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a temporary position from August 2015 to June 2016 and there is an opportunity to be considered for a multi year employment. This position is available for PSU students.

• Design print and online marketing collateral,
• Design online and print advertisements
• Create infographics, charts and vectors
• Flow content and imagery into all print and online materials
• Work within the university brand standards
• Take marketing projects from inception to completion
• Work with colleagues in marketing and communications and in the foundation
• Assist in the development of templates to support the work of the foundation
• Select and edit images, accessing university image libraries
• May work within the project management system
• Other priorities as assigned by the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
• Strong sense of design
• Creative thinker
• Must be detail-oriented
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Ability to keep information confidential
• Working knowledge of the Mac platform
• Experience and proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator experience required
• Basic knowledge of Word and Excel
• Enthusiasm for marketing and communications
• Comfortable working with project management
• Strong technology skills and social media interest is a plus
