Content Coordinator Intern


The part-time Intern will work as a member of the Corporate Communications team. The Corporate Communications team is a business partner to all Con-way business units and corporate departments, providing strategic communication counsel and creative services in support of the company’s business objectives.

Essential Functions:
As an Intern, the individual will assist the Corporate Communications team with:

Creating digital style guide comparison boards
Producing and distributing weekly campus e-newsletter: edit announcements, obtain client approvals, compose e-newsletter, send approved e-newsletter to campus employees
Updating content on corporate intranet (Merge) home page: identify and recommend potential stories, edit stories, develop poll questions, load content into content management system
Creating and managing visual management Lean board
Coordinating CES and Inc. social postings
Facilitating intranet content updates

Scope and Accountability:

Actions are guided by clearly-stated standards, parameters and processes. The Intern performs work under a high-level of supervision.

Work under established guidelines and controls, including established team processes and corporate Brand Standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university preferably in marketing, communications, journalism or related field

Experience with writing and editing news stories, along with posts for social media sites

Basic understanding of writing guidelines and standards, such as AP Stylebook

Knowledge of and basic experience with content management systems

Strong attention to details

Strong Microsoft Office skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio

Effective business writing, editing skills and communication skills (oral and written)

Ability to collect and analyze information relevant to completing a task

Project management skills; time management and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads

Employee may occasionally be required to travel to meetings or other engagements by automobile; if the employee drives a car in these instances, the employee must have all capabilities needed to do so safely.

The duties of the job are primarily performed in an office environment. There is some exposure to noise in the work environment, which is usually mild to moderate.
