The Portland State University Office of Academic Affairs is seeking to hire a PSU art student(s) to serve as a graphic recorder at the upcoming Provost’s Challenge Celebration. This high-profile, campus-wide event takes place on Tuesday, May 19th, 3:00-5:00 PM, in the Smith Memorial Student Union. Compensation is negotiable. This event will provide an outstanding opportunity for a talented student or team of students to showcase their abilities to a broad audience!
This free, interactive event invites the entire campus community to celebrate innovation at PSU and to learn about the exciting new programs, tools, and resources available to students, faculty, and staff as a result of Provost’s Challenge. The Provost’s Challenge supported twenty-four faculty and staff projects beginning in 2013 through full implementation in June 2015, to accelerate online learning, expand the use of innovative technology in educational delivery, and to improve student success and graduation rates. This informal celebratory event is intended to encourage the exchange of ideas and information and to honor the outstanding accomplishments of our Provost’s Challenge project teams. To learn more about the Provost’s Challenge, visit the Provost’s Challenge Website.
As the event unfolds, the artist/graphic recorder will illustrate the event in real-time for all attendees to see. It is anticipated that the artist will interact with attendees who wish to share their ideas on innovation, lessons learned, successes, etc. and then provide graphic illustrations of those ideas. The exact format will be determined jointly between the selected artist(s) and the event planning staff. The artist should ensure availability prior to and following the event hours to account for set-up and take-down. Examples of graphic recording are readily available on the internet.
Please consider sharing your talents to make this event fun, interactive and meaningful! All artwork produced will be preserved to allow continued reflection on the transformational impacts accomplished to date through the Provost’s Challenge, as well as to inspire future innovation on behalf of students.
