We’re looking for someone to design the album cover and a fold-out poster for our Songs on Conceptual Art album. We also need some graphics for our website that match. We would like to have the website launched and the jackets printed by the end of April, so we need someone ASAP!
We would like to use recycled record jackets, and screen print all of the covers by hand. We’re thinking that this limits us to a maximum of two color process, with the option of a third color if the jackets are painted first.
We imagine that the design will be pretty simple and primarily text based, inspired by the work of Sol LeWitt and John Baldessari/the Conceptual Art movement of the 1960’s/70’s. We want LeWitt’s Sentences on Conceptual Art to play a primary role.
Attached you should find a PDF of LeWitt’s Sentences and the bands that have turned them into songs.
If you’re interested, please send us a link to view past work online and we’ll contact you to set up a meeting. Our email is: wewouldliketosingforyou@gmail.com Feel free to contact if you have any questions, too.
More about the project:
Artists Crystal Baxley and Stefan Ransom are inviting musicians and artists to each create a song inspired by one of Sol Lewitt’s Sentences on Conceptual Art. The compilation will be released as a limited edition double record of the tracks titled Songs on Conceptual Art, and all of the songs will be available to download on the project
