have you been working there?
Nemo Design, Designer. three and a half years
How did you find your current design position?
Did some research, found nemo, started interning, then started
contracting and then landed a full time position.
What projects are you working on currently?
As of right now:
Nike running retail, smith optics point of purchase graphics, Nike
Sportswear Asia Pacific brand standards, Nike Factory Store grand
opening VC and Headphone packaging.
What do you like best about your position or projects?
Constant change of challenges from project to project. The people
that I get to collaborate with. The creative environment I'm in, etc…
In what ways (faculty, program, projects, classes, etc) was PSU-
GD successful inpreparing you for being a professional designer?
The professors seemed to have a lot of real world knowledge and most
work in the Portland market which was extremely helpful.
What recommendations do you have for any current students and/or
Try to get as many internships and professional experience that you
can. Don't fill your portfolio with just student work. Less is more:
fewer stronger projects in your portfolio is better than a hand full
of mediocre ones.
Any other thoughts about being a designer that you would like to
share (things you wish you had known or just any thing of interest
You better love this because it takes a lot of work and time to do it
