Howdy :~) My name is Gavin. I love making typefaces, taking photos, and makin' things move on the screen. I aim to express a mood or an idea in the projects I work on using a variety of mediums. Whether that's working hands-on, or on the computer; I want to learn more ways of sharing ideas.

  • Shortcoming
    This typeface is inspired by falling short of your expectations. It illustrates the shortcoming by shifting the terminals over, making them fall short of being perfectly rounded. This adds a unique effect to the typeface as a whole.

  • West Side Invite
    The West Side Invite is a yearly bike messenger event held in major cities along the west coast. The branding for 2019 draws from the interaction between the messenger community and the postal service.

  • PSU Skin Suit
    The PSU Cycling Team and I created a new skinsuit for their 2018 race season. We created a halftone pattern that would create a unique texture on the arms and legs.

  • D.A.N.C.E (Kinetic Type)
    This motion project explores color, texture, and typography to express the upbeat energy of D.A.N.C.E by Justice.

  • Recent Works 2016–2019
    This book is a collection of photos I've taken from 2016 to 2019. Some digital, some film in places close and far from home. Included are some shots from commissioned projects over those years.
