WOW! Come out and support PSU's own Aaron Rayburn's first solo show titled: Talking Birds // Migrators of the Pacific Flyway this Friday at Land Gallery. Aaron first developed this body of work in his 320 class last quarter and he has been working his fingers to the bone these past few weeks building upon it. Personally, I can. not. wait.
From Aaron's Mouth about his show:
I am a native northwesterner!
There have been varied strong influences in my life that have merged together that affect my interests. The first of which is my exposure to a National Geographic video library. My first one was about the Etosha Pan Park in Namibia. I practically memorized all sixty minutes of that documentary and still have a strong urge to visit Southwest Africa at some point in my life.
Growing older I found particular fascination with birds and birdwatching. I could never really wrap my head around their determination, focus, and beauty. I find their gestures elegant, their lives epic, and their journeys inspiring. Never a wasted flight.
Won't you join us?
DEETS: Opening reception // January 15th from 6 to 8pm. The show runs through the 31st. Land Gallery is located at 3925 N Mississippi Ave.
