It’s our FIRST Show & Tell of 2020! Let’s kick the term off right with the incredible Fran Bittakis!
FRAN BITTAKIS/ฟราน บิทากิส (pronouns She/Her) is Thai-American, born and raised in Chicago to immigrant parents and has lived in Portland since 2004. In 2019, she established and founded JOOP JOOP.
Fran has been engaged in social justice and activism since the late 90’s (Food Not Bombs, booking punk shows and events, Youth Liberation Conference) and active again since 2016 (NXT LVL + SNACK BLOC). She’s also co-owner of a custom screen printing shop specializing in flatstock for 11 years in Portland, OR called Seizure Palace.
One of her biggest passions is to be involved in connecting her communities to each other while creating a positive impact through collaborating and producing projects with those communities.
JOOP JOOP is a radical creative agency specializing in producing events, photoshoots, music videos, film, social media content, workshops, consultation and curation while representing Creatives of Color and allies through bringing equity, inclusion and a social justice framework to challenge conventional paradigms and systems.
JOOP JOOP is committed to hiring and collaborating with womxn, BIPoC, LGBTQIA2S+ folx and accomplices. Our goal is to create work and content that is relevant to us, tell our stories through our lenses and bring them forward and take up space within these industries with a plan to roll out an agency representing multidisciplinary creatives and crew in the near future.
