Welcome to camp be honest!
Portland State University’s Graphic Design program presents Be Honest! Be Honest is the
annual PSUGD student portfolio showcase! Every spring since 2010, Sophomores, Juniors,
and soon-to-be graduating Seniors come together to show off their work to professionals
and the community at large. Be Honest is a valuable opportunity for graphic design students
to gain experience presenting their work and engaging with the community. It’s also an
opportunity for creative professionals to check out all the great things coming out of PSUGD!
What can you bring to your table? Lots of things! You can bring prints and stickers to give
away, a laptop or monitor with a few of your projects to share, or just turn your table into a
portrait drawing booth. Those 3 feet are yours to make an impression however you’d like!
Featuring Matthias Kemeny Design
Lecturer: Adam Garcia
We are so excited for Adam Garcia’s Kemeny Lecture at 8:00PM
Adam R Garcia is a designer, creative director and artist working and playing in Los Angeles,
California. He’s a creative lead at Apple Music where he and a small team help oversee content
for the platform, he has his own studio aptly named Adam R Garcia Studio, and previously ran
the studio The Pressure in Portland, Oregon.
After working at record labels, with music festivals, and a stint at Nike Global Brand Studio,
Adam had a wonderful time as adjunct faculty at PSU for a few years, teaching a senior thesis
course to designers. He has a podcast called Dope Excerpts, draws incessantly, and is
currently writing a tabletop roleplaying game about the membrane between realities.
Wish him luck on that.
