PSU Publication is looking for designers (volunteers)

Guest post:   Hello, I'm the Senior Editor at the Portland Spectator magazine (a PSU monthly student pub), and I have an open opportunity for design students who want more experience doing assignment work.

Here's my pitch: We've been working hard on redeveloping the Spectator's mission and style over the last several issues, and best of all, we're now on an all color, coated paper format that looks very good. Inside, we're aiming for a more intellectual, insightful, thought provoking type of magazine that is also strong in its visual expression.

Post shared by the lovely Deb Koenig (GD student) THANKS!
Here’s your chance to apply for a paid summer internship at Veer, a leading creator and provider of visual elements for the design industry. This internship won’t have you running to the coffee shop for everybody or cropping mugshots for annual reports all day. As part of our talented in-house creative team, you’ll be encouraged to explore your best work in print, web, or product design for both the Veer and Corbis brands. Previous interns have worked on award-winning Veer marketing materials and merch.

Dean of Students Needs Your Help!

Posted on Feb 20th, 2009 by Command Save

Opportunity to work on "real world" design projects for credit and for your resume!

J.R. Tarabocchia, Coordinator of Commencement and Student Affairs Outreach,
Dean of Students Office is looking for student designers to help with creating a
brand/identity for the division of Student Affairs.  This can come in the form of logo, design, slogan, all of the above, etc.  In a nutshell, we are promoting services for students (free services!).

We are also looking for students to help with our web design, including layout, adding relevant and creative pictures, possibly creating video
— here is what we have now:  As you
can tell, we desperately need some help!  I really want some additional
media besides texts and pictures from 1997. In addition smaller projects ranging from designing the 60+ page formal Commencement brochure to helping a department design its Facebook page. We desperately need some artists!

Students can receive 3 hours of credit under the IST 499 class (12 total
credits total) per term or students may consider this for internship ART 469.

Please email J.R. a short resume and your portfolio .pdf or a .pdf of work samples (5-7 pieces).

Students can email J.R at <> or call J.R. at 503.725.4422.
