Student Graphic Designer

The graphic designer position at PSU’s School of Business Administration (SBA) is responsible for all graphic design from concept to production. This position will support, uphold, and advance the SBA brand, and will report to the Director and Associate Director of Marketing & Communications.

Responsibilities:
-Design and produce print and digital marketing materials, including collateral, paid advertisements, publications, presentations, and branded merchandise
-Design visual assets to support marketing & communications plans, such as visuals for social media, webpages, videos, email campaigns, earned media, and original stories
-Develop web layouts within PSU’s content management system (Drupal), and work in collaboration with the marketing team to update webpages on Drupal
-Manage the media library, including photos, logos, visual assets, etc.
-Support miscellaneous graphic design needs of SBA faculty and staff

Required Skills:
-Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
-Creative mindset with an innate sense for aesthetics
-Working knowledge of foundational graphic design principles, including digital and print production
-Familiarity with content management systems (Drupal) and email marketing tools (Emma, Mailchimp)
-Basic knowledge of HTML and web development
-Ability to work with print vendors to communicate project goals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality materials within timeline and budget
-Ability to interpret, follow, and uphold SBA’s brand and sub-brand guidelines, and develop professional quality designs to advance SBA’s brand
-Ability to listen, read, and analyze communication challenges and develop strategic design solutions
-Ability to follow creative direction when provided, as well as self direct when needed
-Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to facilitate projects from concept to production
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications
-Strong project management skills with the ability to follow-through on long-term and short-term projects with competing deadlines
-Currently majoring or minoring in graphic design, or have graduated with a degree in graphic design, and be able to provide recent samples of work

The pay rate is $12.50/hr.
